Trace Route (All Windows):
1) Click on START, and select RUN
2) Type "command" (windows 95, 98, ME) "cmd" ( windows 2000, XP)
3) A Windows DOS prompt will appear. Type in "tracert" followed by website you are having problems connecting to. Example "www.yahoo.com". Hit ENTER key.
4) You will begin to see a list of the routers "hops" that your computer must go through to get to www.yahoo.com. If any of these routers are not responding the trace route will time out at that point. This is very important information when trouble- shooting a problem while browsing the internet. 5) type EXIT to close the dialog window. * You have now successfully completed a TRACE ROUTE.
