To get up and running fast, the direct connection is your best bet. Like the name suggests, it connects your Xbox console directly to your modem. It's terrific if all you want to do is play games.
- 1. Turn off your Xbox console and your cable modem before connecting any cables. Unplug your modem from power to turn it off. Unplug the Network cable from your computer.
- 2. Take your Ethernet cable and connect one end to the Ethernet port on your modem and the other end to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox console. Most modems use a standard (straight-through) Ethernet cable.
- 3. Turn on the power to your modem, then your Xbox console, with no disc in the disc tray.
- 4. From the Xbox Dashboard choose Xbox Live. Or, play a game on your Xbox Live Starter Kit disc and choose the option for Xbox Live play.
If you see the Xbox Live screen, congratulations! You are connected to Xbox Live! Next, Sign Up for Xbox Live.
If your Xbox console can't connect to Xbox Live, the Xbox Dashboard provides an automatic network troubleshooter to help you connect.
* The XBOX Live Starter Kit + subscription is required for online gaming * See Microsoft's XBOX Live website for more information.
If you are experiencing trouble connecting your Microsoft XBOX game system, please contact Microsoft's XBOX support department for technical assistance.

- 2. Unplug the Network cable from the back of your computer.
- 3. Plug the Network cable into the PlayStation2 Network Adaptor.
- 4. Plug the power cord back into your cable modem.
- 5. The Network Adaptor Start-Up Disc must be inserted in order to setup Wave's ISP network configuration data to connect to the Internet. Simply go through the “ISP Setup” process located on the Main Menu of the Start-Up Disc. You will need a Memory Card (8mb)(for PlayStation®2) with at least 137kb of free space. Please note your Wave network configuration data will be saved onto this Memory Card (for PS2). The network configuration saved to the Memory Card (PS2) will only work on the particular PlayStation®2 system you used for the initial ISP setup. Network configuration data is not transferable from system to system.
* Wave uses DHCP to obtain both your IP address, DNS, and Gateway settings.
For more information on the PlayStation 2 Network setup, consult your documentation included with your PlayStation 2 Network Adaptor.
