What is FTP and Frontpage?
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. There are many types of software available on the market today. Ranging from Freeware to Shareware to Full purchase. Once you have installed your FTP client onto your machine, you enter your connection details (supplied to you by us), which are stored and you connect directly to the server where your website space is allocated. Transferring files is fast and easy, and provides you with your own control over which website editing tool you use. Recommended for either the novice or professional.
Frontpage is a Web authoring tool made by Microsoft, and is often bundled with Microsoft Office. With this you also enter your connection details (supplied to you by us) and open your pages directly from the internet. You can then alter the text, delete images and replace them, then click save and your page is auotmatically refreshed. This is best used if you have a very simple static site and do not want to worry about the code behind. It has a function to view the code and can also be used in this manner. Recommended more for the novice.
